Second Phase of Safa Nepal App Awareness Campaign

safa nepal 2nd phase

Building on the success of the first phase, the United Nepal Foundation, in collaboration with Clean Up Nepal, The Asia Foundation, and Birgunj Metropolitan City, has officially launched the Second Phase of the Safa Nepal App Awareness Campaign. This phase is focused on expanding outreach, deepening community engagement, and driving measurable change in sustainable waste management practices across urban and semi-urban areas of Nepal.

Expanding the Safa Nepal App Movement

The Safa Nepal App continues to serve as a powerful digital solution for modern waste management. After introducing its benefits to thousands of users in the first phase, the second phase is designed to scale impact by:

  • Reaching More Communities – Extending awareness programs beyond Birgunj to other municipalities and wards, ensuring no community is left behind.

  • Hands-On Training – Organizing workshops for households, youth clubs, and business owners on how to effectively use the app.

  • Strengthening Local Partnerships – Collaborating with local leaders, schools, and environmental groups to make waste segregation and reporting a daily habit.

  • Data-Driven Waste Solutions – Using insights gathered through the app to help local governments design better collection routes and sustainable policies.

Campaign Activities & Highlights

This phase includes targeted outreach programs such as:

  • School & College Awareness Sessions – Engaging young changemakers who can influence their families and peers.

  • Ward-Level Demonstrations – Showing residents how to report garbage, monitor services, and participate in clean-up drives.

  • Community Challenges & Rewards – Motivating neighborhoods to compete for the title of “Cleanest Ward.”

  • Local Media & Digital Push – Using radio, social media, and local press to amplify the campaign’s reach.

Why Phase Two Matters

Phase Two moves beyond awareness—it is about action and accountability. By empowering citizens with tools and knowledge, the campaign seeks to:

  • Increase waste segregation at the source

  • Reduce illegal dumping in open spaces and riversides

  • Improve efficiency in municipal waste collection

  • Foster a long-term culture of cleanliness and civic responsibility

United Nepal Foundation’s Continued Commitment

The United Nepal Foundation reaffirms its vision of a cleaner, healthier Nepal. This second phase represents not just the continuation, but the strengthening of a nationwide movement that places citizens at the heart of environmental solutions.
